Microwave dried flowers
As the first frosts start to gradually kill off the garden it becomes more urgent that we preserve all our favorite bits.
We like to use edible petals on our dishes every now and again and not having the patience to wait weeks for petals to dry inside the pages of a large tome we went for the fastest possible method.
1. Take the petals from ther flower heads and lay onto some tissue on a plate and put in the microwave.
2. Put the microwave on for about fifty seconds or until the petals have lost all of their moisture but before the blacken and burn.
We dried out cornflowers and marigolds and if it works for these flowers it will probably work for any.
Use in salads or as a garnish for sweet and savoury dishes.
